Tax Incentives Drive Economic Growth in Middleborough

Middleborough continues to build momentum as a destination for growing businesses with the planned expansion of indus, a fourth-generation, family-owned Massachusetts business and a leader in pavement preservation and infrastructure solutions.

Driven by increased customer demand, indus plans to purchase a 60-acre lot at Campus 44 on Canopy Drive, becoming the second company to locate at the corporate park for its next phase of growth.

The estimated $30 million project includes construction of a new 75,000-square-foot facility that will serve as the company’s corporate headquarters, operations center and training hub. indus will retain and relocate 65 full-time employees and 160 seasonal jobs, while creating 20 new full-time positions, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Massachusetts and confidence in Middleborough as a business-friendly community.

To support the expansion, Business Development Strategies, Inc. (BDS) partnered with indus to manage the local approval process and secure a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) agreement with the Town. Led by Lynn Tokarczyk, the BDS team worked closely with Middleborough officials to advance a collaborative agreement that aligns economic growth with long-term community benefits.

“Middleborough is proud to support indus and welcome them to our community,” said Jay McGrail, Town Manager. “Town Meeting’s unanimous approval reflects our commitment to partnering with indus that will deliver lasting value to the Town.”

“Through BDS’ guidance and strong government relationships, Middleborough approved a TIF agreement that supports our growth plans,” said Rich Goodick, President of indus. “We are excited to expand our operations and to partner with a community that welcomed us from day one.”
